Penn State University, State College, PA
Was at the Philadelphia airport at sunrise (waiting for my flight
to State College). State College is served by four airlines, each
airline going to exactly one town, but no airline repeating the
town.
The grad student association (Indian students) was having their
annual program that day. Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash were playing
Sarod.
... followed by an orchestra from NJ when the young students went forth
and danced.
PSU was founded in 1855 and that is brought home through several blue boards
announcing that.
The creamery was interesting in that they have good, cheap
ice cream which they make themselves - from scratch. Tasted the Pista flavour.
The Nittany lion joined much later, but as in most places
with teams of any kind, is a very big deal. Ihad to get its photograph.
They have a pretty good evolving mural just off the E College road which
(together with the W College road) makes for the whole downtown area
which has a few interesting shops and a fair number of restaurants.
There are some other interesting buildings on campus
